Ready to make it's racing debut at the Belgian GT Championship, April 25-26th, the Belgian Audi Club's new Audi R8 GT3 just made it's "meet and great" press debut. As Audi is not participating in the ALMS this year, they are focused on winning the 24 hours of Le Mans and the R8 GT3 will be a great contender.
Though the Belgian Audi Club did not participate in any championship races last year, the Audi R8 GT3's debut by Audi Sport last August was too much to pass up. Here's what JG Mal-Voy, President of the Belgian Audi Club had to say about the car:
“After long months of negotiations and through excellent relationships with the heads of Audi Sport,” says Mal-Voy. “We are pleased to announce that this year we will begin an Audi R8 GT3 in the Belgian GT. The Phoenix Racing team, mandated by the factory will support the preparation and maintenance of this fantastic car. ”
Veteran Belgian Audi Club drivers, Tim Verbergt and Jean-François Hemroulle will be piloting the new R8 Gt3. “We continue to trust Verbergt Tim and Jean-François Hemroulle,” continues JG Mal-Voy. “I am convinced that we have with these two drivers of one of the best duos ever. They are very fast, are understood to perfection and they are both parts of the country. What more can you ask for?”
Be sure to keep your eyes open later this month at the Belgian GT Championship to see the Belgian Audi Club's R8 GT3 in action.
